Ingredients
  

For the Brisket:

  • 4-5 lb beef brisket trimmed of excess fat
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Dry Rub:

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Brisket

  • Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
  • Rub with olive oil to help seasoning stick.

Step 2: Apply the Dry Rub

  • In a bowl, mix together salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, ground mustard, and brown sugar.
  • Coat the brisket evenly with the rub, massaging it into the meat.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight for deeper flavor).

Step 3: Slow Cook the Brisket

  • Preheat your slow cooker (or oven to 300°F/150°C).
  • Place the brisket in the slow cooker (fat side up).
  • Cook on LOW for 8 hours (or HIGH for 5 hours), until fork-tender.

Step 4: Make the BBQ Sauce (Optional)

  • In a saucepan, combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and honey.

Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
