For the Crab Boil:
- 4 lbs fresh crab Dungeness, blue crab, or snow crab
- 2 lbs red potatoes halved
- 1 lb smoked sausage sliced
- 4 ears corn on the cob cut into halves
- 1 lb shrimp optional, for variety
For the Seasoning & Boil:
- 10 cups water
- ¼ cup Old Bay seasoning
- ¼ cup Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for spice
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 2 lemons halved
- 1 whole garlic head cut in half
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 stick butter melted (for serving)
Step 1: Prepare the Boil
In a large stockpot, bring water to a boil over high heat.
Add Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.
Squeeze lemons into the pot and drop them in.
Add bay leaves and garlic.
Step 2: Cook the Ingredients in Stages
Add potatoes and boil for 10 minutes.
Add smoked sausage and corn, boil for another 5 minutes.
Add crab and cook for 10 minutes.
If using shrimp, add it in the last 3-5 minutes.
Step 3: Serve the Feast
Drain the boil and spread everything out on a lined table or large serving platter.
Drizzle with melted butter and extra Old Bay seasoning.
Serve with garlic butter sauce or hot sauce.
