Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika optional
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional for heat

Instructions
 

Prepare the beef:

  • Thinly slice the beef sirloin or flank steak against the grain for tenderness.

Sauté the vegetables:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until softened. Remove and set aside.

Cook the beef:

  • In the same skillet, add the beef slices. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned on all sides.

Add garlic & seasonings:

  • Stir in the minced garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Make the gravy:

  • Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer.

Thicken the sauce:

  • Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then slowly stir it into the pan. Let it thicken for 2-3 minutes.

Combine everything:

  • Add the sautéed onions and bell peppers back to the pan. Stir everything together and simmer for another 2 minutes.

Serve:

  • Remove from heat and serve hot over steamed rice or mashed potatoes.
